It is advisable to have an assistant, not just to discuss the different alternatives, but also for the practical work.

Place the art along the floors or chairs along the walls to get an overview. If you have too many objects, take the supernumeraries away. Try different combinations. Compare the chosen art objects with the ones taken away.

Start with the dominating wall surface, but never at the corners.

The paintings can either be hung on wall hooks behind the painting or suspended with cords or rods from a picture rail at the top of the room.

If hung from hooks, I recommend the use of small rings on each frame in upper corners, providing a much more stable support than the traditional wire solution.

With a rail, the hanging work goes fast, it is possible to fine tune, re-position and re-hang easily, and perhaps most important, no damage to the walls.
